ESA's Recap on January 2024 : Riding the Wave of New Beginnings

January's Moments of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024 in Recap

    Hello fellas! It doesn't feel like January has passed, does it? Now, we welcome to the month of love, February! There were so many positive things that we have done, starting from the completion of our holiday period, to entering college and the implementation of good work programs from ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024. Are you curious what ESA'S work programs have been carried out during last month, January? 

In January there were four work programs that have been implemented. But, what are the divisions that have implemented those four work programs? They are Woman Resource Division, Social & Politic Division, and Membership Development Division. Here are the work programs that have been implemented very well. Come on, take a look! 

1. 𝐄𝐒𝐀'𝐒 𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐘 𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐊

Saturday, January 6th, 2024.

The Membership Development Division has an exciting task for Chaitra Achintya Cabinet team, that is ESA's Literacy Task. What is ESA's Literacy Task? ESA's Literacy Task is a program designed so that all ESA FKIP UNRI administrators for the 2023/2024 period have activities during the semester vacation period, in order to broaden their horizons and fill their spare time.  

Here's the task: all members just need to watch an inspiring Western film titled "The Greatest Showman", then create a summary and identify the moral values. The task should be submitted through the shared link on December 26th, 2023 - January 5th, 2024. This activity is not only enjoyable but also helps us stay connected with the English language, enhancing our listening, reading, and also writing skills.

2. 𝐄𝐒𝐀'𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍

Sunday, January 7th, 2024.

ESA's Care confession is a forum formed by the Women Resource Division in order to provide services, convey aspirations, vent and complaints such as sexual violence, bullying, defamation, criminal acts and other cases that often occur in our environment, especially in the campus environment. 3. 𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐇 𝐕𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏 

Sunday, January 21st-24th, 2024.

The English Volunteer Camp (EVC) with the theme "Creating A Spirit of Integrity, Togetherness, and Caring for Fellow Chaitra Achintya Families" was held on 21st - 24th January 2024 in Bagan Besar sub-district, Dumai. It was organized by the Social and Politics Division of ESA FKIP UNRI 2023/2024 and was attended by students of the English Education Study Program at Riau University. English Volunteer Camp aims as a form of community service for students of English Education Study Program. 

The activity began with the departure of the EVC 2024 committee and participants  to Dumai on Sunday, January 21st, 2024. EVC committee and participants arrived in Bagan Besar sub-district in the afternoon. The activity continued with the establishment of tents. After that, the activity continued with the EVC 2024 Opening Ceremony. The opening ceremony began with the opening by the MC, then continued with the recitation of Qur'an, welcoming speech by the Chief Executive, Fitrah Al-Habibah Muhaimin, and welcoming speech by the Chairman of ESA FKIP UNRI 2023/2024, Bintang Adi Darmawan. The opening ceremeony was then continued with welcoming speech by the Head of Bagan Besar sub-district who also officially opened the EVC 2024. Then, continued with the introduction of the EVC committee and participants with the local community, prayer, and closing. 

On the second day, January 22nd, 2024, the EVC committee and participants held Mini English Olympiad at SMPN 5 Dumai. The event began in the morning with a welcoming speech that opened the Mini English Olympiad by the Principal of SMPN 5 Dumai. There were 2 branches of competition in the Mini English Olympiad, namely Rank 1 and Singing Contest which was attended by students of SMPN 5 Dumai. In addition to the two branches of the race, there were also Mini Games namely Whisper Challenge. The event ended with the announcement of Mini English Olympiad & Mini Games winners, and farewell to SMPN 5 Dumai in the afternoon.

4. 𝐌𝐀𝐁𝐀 𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆

Friday, January 25th, 2024.

Maba Mentoring was one of work programs that held by Internal Bureau of Membership Development Division, which started from 25th December, 2023 - 25th January, 2024. The aim of the activity was to support and help the new student to knowing the university or campus life. 

This event was held 4 times meeting, separately in period by 10 groups divided. Each group has 11-12 new students and 2 seniors, which one was a Membership and the other one was from other division. The media that used in this mentoring was WhatsApp and Zoom or Google Meet which done online because the event was held on college holidays. By the last of the meeting, there was a video challenge for each of new students that might had to be posted at 8:00 PM on their Instagram account.

    After reading the ESA's work programs progress, the implemented programs seem to be going well, it seems that good teamwork, smooth communication, and directed discussions make all ESA's work programs run without obstacles.
