ESA’s Recap on July 2025: Carried by Intention, Fueled by Teamwork

July has been a month of momentum, fresh spirit, and meaningful progress for ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2024/2025. As we navigated through the heart of the year, each division brought its best energy into the field—channeling ideas into action and staying committed to our shared values. Whether behind the scenes or on the frontlines, the dedication of every member continued to shape a dynamic and purposeful organization.

Throughout the month, we’ve seen consistent efforts that reflect both growth and collaboration. The synergy built across teams, the enthusiasm of our members, and the drive to keep improving all contributed to the strong foundation we’re building together. Let’s take a moment to look back at the highlights of July and appreciate the journey we’ve taken this month.

 

1. SIDANG ISTIMEWA NATIONAL ENGLISH OLYMPIAD (NEO) 2025

Moments of Sidang Istimewa NEO 2025

On July 5th and 6th, 2025, the Social and Politics Division of the Aruna Niscala Cabinet, ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2024/2025, successfully conducted the Sidang Istimewa National English Olympiad (NEO) 2025 under the theme “Refining Roles, Realigning Goals.” Held in the D1 Room of FKIP Universitas Riau, this special plenary session served as a space for reflection, evaluation, and discussion on the accountability of NEO 2025. The two-day agenda included the formal opening ceremony, the ratification of the session structure, and intensive discussions of the accountability report. Each moment was marked by a shared sense of purpose—to assess achievements and challenges with transparency and to ensure that every voice contributed to the organization's growth and development.

The session concluded with the official ratification of the NEO 2025 Accountability Report and the election of the NEO 2026 Core Committees, signifying a meaningful transition of responsibility. Through this forum, ESA FKIP Universitas Riau reaffirmed its commitment to structure, improvement, and leadership rooted in reflection. Congratulations to the newly elected NEO 2026 Core Committees—may they carry forward the legacy with pride, lead with clarity, and elevate the National English Olympiad to greater heights in the year ahead.

 

2. VISUAL ARTS POSTER CONTEST (VAPE) 2025

VAPE 2025 Winner Announcement

Through the theme “Whisking Dreams into Reality,” ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2024/2025, via its Communication and Informatics Division, proudly presented the Visual Arts Poster Contest (VAPE) 2025. This inspiring national competition invited participants to translate their hopes, ideas, and ambitions into powerful visual messages. With topics ranging from cultural preservation and digital ethics to the role of language and technology in shaping the future, the contest encouraged participants to explore relevant issues through the lens of creative poster design. Registration opened on June 11th, 2025, with submissions accepted immediately by the guidelines provided by the organizing committee.

After the submission period closed on July 11th, the judging phase took place from July 12th to 17th, culminating in the official winner announcement on July 20th, 2025. The winners were selected for their originality, relevance to the theme, and design execution, representing various regions of Indonesia and showcasing diverse creative voices. The Visual Arts Poster Contest (VAPE) 2025 not only celebrated artistic excellence but also reaffirmed ESA FKIP Universitas Riau’s ongoing commitment to nurturing creativity, innovation, and meaningful self-expression. Congratulations to the winners, and heartfelt appreciation to all participants who poured their ideas into art. May this platform continue to inspire future creators in bringing their visions to life.

 

3. OPEN RECRUITMENT FOR ORGANIZATIONAL BOARD BATCH 2

ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2024/2025, through its Membership Development Division, has officially opened the Open Recruitment for Organizational Board Batch 2. This program invites passionate and committed individuals to become part of the ESA community and contribute to a year of growth, collaboration, and meaningful action. To empower students to explore their potential, the recruitment period was extended from June 27th to July 5th, 2025, giving applicants ample time to prepare and submit their registration. The process then continued with interviews held from July 6th to 8th, followed by the announcement of selected candidates on July 10th, 2025.

The entire process reflects ESA’s dedication to nurturing leadership, initiative, and responsibility among future organizational members. With each stage carefully arranged, this recruitment becomes more than just a selection process—it becomes a platform for self-discovery and new beginnings. Congratulations to all selected candidates of the Organizational Board Batch 2. May this opportunity bring growth, connection, and purpose as you begin your journey within ESA FKIP Universitas Riau. We look forward to the contributions you will bring and the impact you will make together.

4. TUGAS LITERASI II

Gran Turismo Film for Tugas Literasi II

To keep the semester break meaningful, the Membership Development Division initiated Tugas Literasi II, a light yet insightful activity designed to encourage reflection through storytelling. Conducted ahead of the long holiday, this task invites ESA members to watch the film Gran Turismo and summarize its storyline, highlighting the moral lesson it conveys. Presented in a simple format consisting of name, division, film title, moral value, and a brief summary, this activity aims to sharpen members’ analytical thinking and writing expression. Open until July 13th, 2025, the assignment is accessible through a Google Drive link containing the film and guidelines, offering a purposeful way to stay engaged during the academic pause.

 

5. PEMILIHAN DUTA BAHASA PENDIDIKAN BAHASA INGGRIS 2025

ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2024/2025, through the Intellectual Development Division, proudly presents one of its flagship programs: Pemilihan Duta Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris (DPBI) 2025 with the theme “Empowering English Education Students to Become Transformative Leaders with Cultural Awareness and Academic Excellence.” This program aims to discover the potential of active students from the 2024 and 2025 batches in leadership, public speaking, and inclusive cultural representation. The selection began on July 18th and will continue until August 30th, 2025, consisting of several stages, including registration and file screening, written test, interview, three-phase quarantine, deep interview, and final rehearsal before the Grand Final Night.

More than a search for representative figures, this event serves as a platform for self-actualization and character building in future leaders. Each participant is assessed holistically based on academic insight, proposed programs, personal values, and communication skills. As the activities are still ongoing, we wish all candidates the best of luck on their transformative journey. Keep striving, and see you at the Grand Final!

 

6. CREATIVE VIDEO CONTEST FOR ENGLISH FRESHMEN (CREVES) 2025

Organized by the Communication and Informatics Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2024/2025, the Creative Video Contest for English Freshmen (CREVES) 2025 is an ongoing initiative that highlights the theme “Learning English through Stories.” Officially launched on July 23rd, 2025, and conducted fully online throughout the month, this activity invites freshmen of the English Study Program at Universitas Riau to introduce themselves through a short video, share their reasons for choosing the program, and offer personal tips on learning English. With submissions open until July 30th, 2025, the competition provides a platform for students to express their creativity, develop their storytelling skills, and build confidence in using the English language.

 

7. PKKMB (PENGENALAN KEHIDUPAN KAMPUS MAHASISWA BARU) UNIVERSITAS RIAU 2025

ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2024/2025, through the Membership Development Division, is set to hold PKKMB (Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus Mahasiswa Baru) Universitas Riau 2025 with the theme "Intelektual Muda Berprestasi, Berjiwa Entrepreneur dan Berdampak Menuju Indonesia Emas 2045.” This orientation program aims to welcome and introduce the freshmen of the English Study Program to the academic environment, campus life, and the vibrant community they are now part of. Scheduled to take place from July 31st to August 2nd, 2025, at Universitas Riau, this three-day event will mark the beginning of an exciting journey for the new students as they step into university life.

That concludes our journey through July. Every step we took this month added something valuable to our growth—not just as individuals, but as a united community. It’s the commitment, collaboration, and creativity of all ESA members that continue to push our organization forward.
