December 2024 has been incredible for ESA FKIP Universitas Riau, as we officially kicked off the Aruna Niscala Cabinet's 2024/2025 term! The excitement was in the air from the first moment, with an unforgettable inauguration and a series of electrifying programs that followed. We wondered what all the buzz was about. 1. ESA'S INAUGURATION AND GENERAL UPGRADING 2024/2025

Moments of ESA's Inauguration and General Upgrading 2024/2025

On December 7th, 2024, the English Student Association (ESA) of FKIP Universitas Riau held its Inauguration and General Upgrading event to introduce the Aruna Niscala Cabinet. Themed “The Importance of Maintaining Good Relationships Between Administrators to Achieve Common Goals,” the program began with participant registration at 7:30 AM, followed by a spiritual reflection led by Nadhira Maulidia Zulfi and Varrel Divia Honey. Attendees united in singing Indonesia Raya, Mars Mahasiswa, and Mars ESA, guided by Lutfi Viola.

The ceremony featured speeches by Ageng Tunggal Wahyudi (Chief of Events) and Bintang Ardi Darmawan (2023/2024 ESA Chairman). The inauguration and oath-taking ceremony was officiated by Rafif Deopra (Acting Governor of BEM FKIP Universitas Riau), with key moments including the handover of leadership to Shevan Mckenzie Ozura, the newly inaugurated ESA Chairman. The event concluded with a keynote presentation by Arif Syaputra and a lively ice-breaking session, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.

2. UPGRADING DIVISION OF ESA FKIP UNIVERSITAS RIAU

Moments of Upgrading Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau

As part of the 2024/2025 agenda, ESA FKIP Universitas Riau introduced an Upgrading Divisions initiative to enhance the skills, knowledge, and teamwork of its members. This program involved all nine divisions of the organization: Secretary Division, Membership Division, Communication and Informatics Division, Social and Politic Division, Intellectual Division, Islamic and Spiritual Division, Interest and Talent Division, Funding Business Division, and Women Resource Division. The upgrading session, held in collaboration with DPK ESA FKIP Universitas Riau, provided a platform to discuss strategies for work programs and develop members’ professional capacities.

Each division focused on identifying areas for growth and improvement, ensuring that all members were well-prepared to contribute to achieving the organization’s goals. Through these efforts, ESA reaffirms its commitment to fostering capable and effective administrators, laying a solid foundation for a productive and impactful year ahead.

3. ESA’S CARE CONFESSION

ESA FKIP Universitas Riau proudly introduces ESA’s Care Confession, a platform created by the Women Resource Division to support students in expressing their concerns, aspirations, and experiences. Designed as a safe and confidential space, this initiative aims to address issues such as harassment, bullying, defamation, and other challenges often faced in campus life. By providing a trusted outlet, ESA’s Care Confession ensures that every voice is heard and every issue is handled with care and respect, prioritizing the well-being and mental health of students.

4. MOTHER'S DAY VIDEO CREATION CONTEST

In honor of Mother’s Day, the Women Resource Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau hosted the Mother’s Day Video Creation Contest with the theme “I Am Proud of My Mother.” This event encouraged students from the 2022–2024 batches to submit 1–3 minute videos in English showcasing their heartfelt admiration and gratitude for their mothers. Participants shared touching stories and unique memories, celebrating the irreplaceable role of mothers in their lives.  

After an exciting round of submissions and careful evaluation, the winners were announced on December 24th, 2024. Congratulations to:  

• Best Video: Ester Jovita S.  
• Most Creative Video: Ilya Husna  
• Most Favorite Video: Sheva Natasya  

These outstanding students amazed the judges and audience alike with their creativity and emotional depth. Trophies and certificates were awarded, making this competition a truly special way to honor Mother’s Day!

5. CVC: CREATIVE VIDEO CHALLENGE 2024

ESA also presents the Creative Video Challenge 2024 with the theme “Unlimited Creativity, Enhance Talent in Performance.” Open to active students from the 2022–2024 batches, this competition encourages participants to create unique 1–3 minute videos, adhering to ethical and creative standards. Registration is open from December 17th–25th, 2024, and submissions are due by January 28th, 2025. Winners will be announced on February 4th, 2025, with categories including Most Interesting Video and Most Talented Video.
