Soulful Recitations: Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an Competition's Brilliance

The Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) organized by the Islamic and Spiritual Division of ESA FKIP UNRI for the academic year 2022/2023 was a significant event. This amazing event was flawlessly organized under the leadership of Desti Puspita Sari, who fulfilled the role of Event Coordinator.   The event showcased a profound and meaningful theme: "Mencerminkan akhlak dan kepribadian Rasulullah Saw melalui Musabaqoh Tilawatil Qur'an," which can be translated as "Reflecting the Character and Morality of the Prophet Muhammad through the MTQ." 

The event showcased its grandeur on the crisp morning of September 30th, 2023, starting at 08:00 a.m., and took place in two distinguished rooms, D6 and D4, at the ESA FKIP UNRI premises. MTQ is more than just an event; it represents a deep sense of devotion and respect for the Quran. 

This remarkable event showcased four competition categories, each with its own distinct purpose and style. The Tilawatil Qur'an competition, organized by Nurvi Amalia, witnessed the participants reciting verses from the Quran with profound dedication. Furthermore, the Calligraphy competition, skillfully overseen by Amalda, honored the art of writing and self-expression. Riska led the Da'i competition, which emphasized the skill of Islamic preaching, while Raihanah Ulya oversaw the Online Islamic Poster competition, which highlighted the power of visual storytelling. 

The Tilawatil Qur'an competition was held in room D6, creating a peaceful atmosphere as the participants' recitations filled the air with a sense of spiritual calm. The Da'i competition emulated the Tilawatil Qur'an, disseminating the teachings of Islam through articulate oratory and sagacity.   

Meanwhile, the artistic Calligraphy competition took place in the elegance of room D4, where the participants' pens brought profound verses to life with their intricate strokes. The Online Islamic Poster competition took on a modern approach, taking place on September 27-28, 2023, and using Google Forms as the platform for participants to showcase their artistic talents. 

The MTQ event was not just a morning affair; it continued its generous presence until noon, creating a deep sense of spiritual connection and camaraderie among participants and audiences. After a short break, attendees assembled for the highly anticipated announcement of the winners, starting at 01:30 pm.   Sari, the event's Master of Ceremonies, presented the winners in a way that perfectly captured the essence of the event. 

Three exceptional individuals were acknowledged for their unwavering commitment and impressive talent in the field of Tilawah Qur'an. Ananda Trie Dieza emerged as the winner, with Meri Andani taking second place and Muqtia Desatari securing third place. Their enchanting recitations surely touched the hearts of everyone who listened. 

Diannisa Divanauli claimed the top spot as the 1st place winner in the art of Calligraphy, showcasing her talent for expression on another canvas. Gifa Rachma Akbaresa showcased remarkable talent by securing 2nd place, while Annatasya Dewi Megawati Putri gracefully claimed the 3rd place, enhancing the event. 

Sefti Eliza's message in the Da'i category captivated the audience, securing her the 1st place position. Widi Aminarti's intelligence led to her securing the 2nd place, while Algi Ferjuanda's impressive speaking skills earned him the 3rd place. 

Mei Mulyana emerged as the winner of the Online Islamic Poster competition, captivating the audience with her powerful storytelling. Carita Septia Nanda's artwork earned her the 2nd place, while Salma Ardhanty Ekasari's creative vision landed her in 3rd place. 

This event exemplified the profound wisdom and harmonious principles found within the teachings of the Quran.   The event drew a wide range of eager attendees, including English students from the classes of 2021, 2022, and 2023, who came together to witness and show their support for the participants.   The winners, adorned with their certificates and trophies, were not only acknowledged for their achievements but also served as beacons of inspiration for future participants, motivating them to strive for excellence and wholeheartedly embrace the teachings of the Quran. Upon the conclusion of the event, it left a deep impression on not just the winners and participants, but also the entire audience.   

The Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an was more than just a competition; it served as a platform for individuals to connect with their spirituality and contemplate the teachings of the Quran. The participants brought the verses of the Quran to life through their recitations, speeches, calligraphy, and artistic posters, allowing everyone present to embrace the wisdom and values it teaches. 

The event emphasized the significance of advocating for the virtues of kindness, compassion, and empathy, reflecting the character and personality of the revered Prophet Muhammad (Saw). Amidst the current times, it is essential to recognize the significance of these principles. The audience was deeply appreciative of the effort and skill demonstrated by the dedicated and enthusiastic participants at the event. The winners, naturally, reveled in the glory of their accomplishments, but the entire event was a shared commemoration of the Quran and its teachings.

The organizers, under the leadership of Desti Puspita Sari, deserve special recognition for their careful planning and flawless execution of the event. The certificates and trophies given to the winners were more than just symbols of recognition. The Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an for the academic year 2022/2023 was a tremendous success, demonstrating the hard work and dedication of all participants. It united people from different backgrounds to honor the teachings of the Quran, foster spirituality, and contemplate the character and personality of the Prophet Muhammad (Saw).
