Welcome to "ESA's Recap on September" from the English Student Association (ESA) at FKIP Universitas Riau! In this edition, we’ll reflect on our recent activities, showcasing the vibrant spirit and commitment of our members. From enlightening workshops to engaging discussions and community events, ESA has been buzzing with energy as we strive to empower each other and foster a supportive environment for growth. Join us as we revisit these impactful moments and look forward to future endeavors! Prepare to be amazed by the incredible work programs brought to life by the Membership Development Division, Women Resource Division, Interest & Talent Division, Secretary Division, Communication & Informatics Division, The Social & Politics Division, and Islamic & Spiritual Division.

In August, we ESA's successfully executed twelve programs, which are Maba Gathering 2024, Ladies Visiting II, Minba's Weekly, Sekre Bersih VI, Inventaris VI, Family Gathering 2024, ESA's Wall Magazine September Edition, Esa Goes to Orphanage (EGO), Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) 2024, Communication Advancement Mission (CAM) to Suska FM Riau, Women Activity I, and ESA's Got Talent (EGT) 2024. Here are the work programs in chronological order that have been implemented in September. Let's dive in!


1. LADIES VISITING II

Moments of Ladies Visiting II

September 4th, 2024 - The Women Resource Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau organized "Ladies Visiting II" on September 4th, 2024, at Sekre Juang BEM Universitas Riau. The visit aimed to foster stronger relationships between the Women Resource Division of ESA FKIP and the Ministry of Pemberdayaan Perempuan BEM Universitas Riau. The event was opened by Nikita Aprilia, followed by a welcoming speech from Srianggi Dwi Putri, the Coordinator of Women Resource Division ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024. The session highlighted the importance of empowering women within the university and the role that both divisions play in maintaining and improving women’s rights.

The two divisions discussed their respective work programs, which provided a platform for sharing insights and ideas. A highlight of the session was the sharing hearing, where both parties exchanged opinions on their ongoing and future initiatives. The event concluded with a symbolic handover of souvenirs, reflecting the strong bonds created during the visit. Through this interaction, the Women Resource Division and the Ministry of Pemberdayaan Perempuan strengthened their partnership, hoping to intensify efforts in promoting women’s rights and empowerment on campus.


2. MINBA’S WEEKLY

Moments of Minba's Weekly

September 5th, 2024 - The Interest and Talent Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024 is once again held Minba Weekly. On this month Minba Weekly agenda for the English Study Program, focused on engaging in various sports activities. On September 5th, 2024, the program that they decided to do is volleyball. The event took place at the FKIP Volleyball Court, starting at 4:00 p.m. And on August 12th, 2024, the Interest and Talent Division decided to play basketball. The event took place at the FKIP Basketball Court, starting at 4:00 p.m. Next week, they decided to play futsal. And it take place in the same place of FKIP Basketball Court, on 4:00 p.m.

These weekly sports sessions are aimed at promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and camaraderie among the students of the English Study Program. Through activities like basketball, students have the opportunity to unwind, stay active, and strengthen their bonds outside the classroom.


3. SEKRE BERSIH VI

Moments of Sekre Bersih VI

September 6th, 2024 - The Secretary Division marked another successful session of Sekre Bersih at 14:00 p.m., in front and inside of the ESA's Secreatariat room. This monthly event is a vital initiative aimed at upholding cleanliness and creating a comfortable working environment within the secretary's domain. Members of the Secretary Division, supported by all presented ESA's cabinet member joined hands to ensure a thorough cleaning of the secretary room. This collaborative effort not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the workspace but also reflects the commitment of ESA FKIP UNRI to fostering an environment that promotes both productivity and well-being among its members.


4. INVENTARIS VI

September 6th, 2024 - The Secretary Division undertook their sixth inventory at 14:00 p.m. in the room of ESA's Secretariat. This monthly agenda serves as a cornerstone for effective management within the division. The diligent members of Secretary Division, meticulously documented and cataloged all equipment designated for secretarial use, extending their scrutiny to encompass materials crucial for future ESA affairs. This proactive approach not only ensures an organized workspace but also reflects the Secretary Division's commitment to preparedness and efficiency, showcasing their dedication to maintaining optimal functionality within ESA FKIP Universitas Riau. Through these routine inventories, the division remains well-prepared to meet the evolving needs of the organization, fostering a culture of foresight and adaptability.


5. FAMILY GATHERING 2024

Moments of Family Gathering 2024

September 10th, 2024 - Membership Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024 has organised Family Gathering 2024 on Saturday, September 10th, 2024, from 07.30 a.m until 12.00 p.m. at Lapangan FKIP Universitas Riau and was attended by the ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024 board. Family Gathering 2024 aims to strengthen the relationship and communication between the ESA FKIP Universitad Riau 2023/2024 board through fun activities.

Family Gathering 2024 was not only about fun and games but also about creating lasting memories and reinforcing the values of togetherness and mutual support. As members shared stories and experiences, they were able to build deeper connections that transcend the usual student-organizational dynamics. This gathering also allowed newer members to integrate seamlessly into the ESA community, reinforcing the idea that ESA is more than just an organization; it's a family. The positive feedback from participants highlighted the success of the gathering in achieving its objectives and further encouraged the planning of future events to maintain this sense of community.


6. WALL MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER EDITION

Moments of Wall Magazine September Edition

September 11th, 2024 - The Communication and Informatics Division (KOMINFO) within ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024 completed the September edition of ESA's Wall Magazine. This latest issue, themed around literacy, with title "Read to Lead, Read to Succeed!," seeks into the importance of literature works, particularly during this month to commemorate International Literacy Day. Through a curated collection of articles, inspiring quotes, and captivating visuals, the wall magazine aims to inspire readers to embark on a journey of literature. By highlighting the importance of reading and emphathy, the magazine encourages individuals to pursue their imagination amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life. In a world where time is usually used to doom-scroling, this edition serves as a gentle reminder to pause, relax, and expand your imagination.


7. ESA GOES TO ORPHANAGE

Moments of ESA Goes to Orphanage

September 14th, 2024 - The Social & Politics Division, Islamic & Spiritual Division, and Women Resource Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024 has Esa Goes to Orphanage (EGO) on Saturday, September 14th, 2024, from 01:00 p.m. at Panti Asuhan Ar-Rahim.  The visit was part of the division’s continuous efforts to give back to the community and foster a sense of social responsibility among its members. The event kicked off with a warm greeting from the division's representative, followed by various engaging activities designed to entertain and bring joy to the children at the orphanage. From fun games to personal interactions, the event created a friendly and uplifting atmosphere for both the children and the students.

"ESA Goes to Orphanage" wasn’t just about fun and games; it was also an opportunity for students to connect on a deeper level with the community. Through this initiative, ESA FKIP Universitas Riau hopes to instill empathy and care among its members. The division also provided a donation, comprising essential goods such as groceries, clothes, and books, which were well received by the orphanage. This meaningful gesture emphasized the importance of sharing and contributing to the well-being of others, aligning with the values of social responsibility and solidarity.


8. MUSABAQAH TILAWATIL QUR'AN (MTQ) 2024

Moments of Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) 2024

September 15th, 2024 - ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024 through the Islamic and Spiritual Division had successfully held Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) 2024 under the theme; "Leading a Generation Towards Excellence through the Light of Qur'an". The event was conducted on Sunday, September 15th, 2024, in room D4 and D6 FKIP UNRI room. MTQ is an annual event that was carried out in order to welcome and celebrate the Prophet's Maulid Day, aimed at showcasing and celebrating the beauty of Qur'an recitation among students. This prestigious competition brought together participants from various faculties, creating a spirit of religious reflection and unity. Representatives from the English Study Program, particularly members of ESA FKIP, joined several categories, including Tilawah (recitation), Hifzhil Qur’an (memorization), and Syahril Qur'an (interpretation), demonstrating their commitment to spiritual excellence and religious literacy.

Beyond the competition, MTQ 2024 served as a platform for participants to strengthen their faith and bond with peers from different backgrounds. The event provided an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of the Qur’an and its teachings, reinforcing the importance of spirituality in their academic and personal lives. ESA FKIP’s involvement in this competition is a reflection of their dedication to balancing both religious and academic pursuits. The Islamic and Spiritual Division’s proactive engagement in MTQ further strengthens the organization’s commitment to fostering a strong sense of religious identity among its members.


9. COMMUNICATION ADVANCEMENT MISSION (CAM) FROM ESA FKIP UNIVERSITAS RIAU TO SUSKA FM

Moments of Communication Advancement Mission (CAM) from ESA FKIP Universitas Riau to SUSKA FM

September 18th, 2024 - The Communication and Information Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau embarked on a visit to SUSKA FM, a radio station affiliated with Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim (UIN SUSKA) Riau. The event was organized as part of ESA's Communication Advancement Mission (CAM), aimed at strengthening networks and gaining insights into the operations of SUSKA FM. The visit started at 9:00 AM and featured a series of informative sessions, during which ESA members learned about the technical and creative processes behind managing a student-run radio station.

This exchange allowed ESA members to interact with SUSKA FM’s team, providing them with valuable perspectives on broadcasting, content creation, and communication strategies. The highlight of the visit was a detailed tour of the station's facilities, including the recording studio and control room, where ESA members could observe the equipment and processes in action. In addition to technical know-how, the SUSKA FM team shared their experiences in building a strong audience and maintaining a consistent content schedule. By the end of the visit, ESA members gained practical knowledge about media management, which will help enhance ESA’s communication channels in the future.

The CAM to SUSKA FM also helped cultivate a partnership between the two student organizations, with plans for future collaborations. As both teams discussed potential cooperative efforts, ideas for joint radio shows and media campaigns were explored. This initiative not only provided learning opportunities for the ESA members but also created a platform for fostering relationships with like-minded organizations outside the university. The experience enriched ESA's vision for expanding its media presence while supporting mutual growth and creative exchange between the two universities.


10. WOMAN ACTIVITY I

Moments of Woman Activity 1

September 19th, 2024 - The Women Resource Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024 organized Women Activity I, a beauty demo in collaboration with PIXY, on September 19th, 2024, at D4 room FKIP Universitas Riau. The event began at 2:00 p.m. and was attended by ESA FKIP Universitas Riau officials and female students from the English Department, batch 2022 and 2024. The main objective of the event was to introduce professional makeup techniques that could help female students present a polished, professional appearance. This activity was designed to boost their self-confidence by providing practical makeup tips from professionals.

The activity kicked off with an opening session, featuring the singing of national anthems such as Indonesia Raya, Mars Mahasiswa, and Mars ESA FKIP Universitas Riau, followed by remarks from ESA officials and representatives from PIXY Pekanbaru. The highlight of the event was the live makeup practice session led by two PIXY representatives, Putri and Kia, with one of the students, Anggun Dwi Prasasti, serving as the model. The participants engaged enthusiastically, asking questions and following the demonstration closely. Afterward, plaques were handed over, and the event concluded with a documentation session and a closing ceremony. Many of the participants were also interested in purchasing PIXY beauty products. Through this activity, the organizers hoped to foster self-development and a sense of sisterhood among the female students.


11. ESA'S GOT TALENT (EGT) 2024

Moments of ESA's Got Talent (EGT) 2024

September 22th, 2024 - "ESA's Got Talent," held on September 8th, 2024, is one of the most anticipated events organized by the Interest and Talent Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau. This event is designed to showcase the unique and diverse talents of students from the English Education program, ranging from singing, dancing, poetry reading, and even stand-up comedy. Students were encouraged to express their creativity in any form they felt comfortable with, allowing them to shine in front of their peers and the ESA community.

Beyond being a talent show, ESA's Got Talent aims to foster an environment where students can feel confident and supported in exploring their creative sides. The event provides a safe space for self-expression, encouraging students to push the boundaries of their artistic abilities while building confidence and public speaking skills. The enthusiastic participation from students not only made the event successful but also strengthened bonds among participants, creating lasting memories and encouraging more involvement in extracurricular activities within ESA FKIP Universitas Riau.
