ESA's Recap on April 2024: Update the Spirit with Excellence

We've already glided through April, can you believe that? It's time to move on into May now! ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024 has been busy with some exciting work activities, from saying goodbye to the endearing feelings to welcoming the blooming freshness of a new month. Are you curious about what happened in April? Prepare to be amazed by the eight outstanding work programs that the Communication and Informatics Division, Woman Resource Division, Secretary Division, and the Intellectual Division have been implementing.
There were eight programs that were put into action in April. Regarding the eight work programs, what are they? These are the following: ESA's April Wall Megazine, Winners Announcement for Creating Videos International Women's Day, Administration Class II, Sumatera English Olimpiad Commite Meeting III, Invetaris IV, Sekre Bersih IV, Sumatera English Olimpiad, and Kartini's Day Video Competition. Here are the work programs in chronological order that have been implemented this month. Ready to catch the highlights? Let's dive in!
1. ESA'S APRIL WALL MAGAZINE
April 1st, 2024 - The Communication and Informatics Division (KOMINFO) within ESA FKIP Universitas Riau 2023/2024 completed the fourth edition of ESA's Wall Magazine. This latest issue, themed "Hollywood", as to welcome the upcoming event of the Sumatera English Olimpiad (SEO) 2024. The theme of "Hollywood" was chosen strategically to align with the excitement surrounding the forthcoming SEO 2024. By delving into the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, ESA aims to ignite enthusiasm and motivation among committe and participants, encouraging them to strive for excellence in their English language skills. Through a curated collection of movie recommendation, International movie articles, National movie articles, and various interesting article, the magazine aims to inspire readers as they go through Wall Megazine.
2. WINNERS ANNOUNCEMET FOR CREATING VIDEOS INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
Winners of Videos International Women's Day by Women Resource Division
April 2nd, 2024 - The Secretary Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau held the International Women's Day Video Making Competition with the theme "Make Yourself the Greatest Woman through this Competition" to commemorate International Women's Day. Registration was held on March 5th-6th, 2024, and video collection was held on March 10th, 2024 at 21.00 WIB, competition participants were required to upload the video together and then continued with the announcement of the winner which was held on March 15th, 2024. This competition was held online through the Instagram and tiktok platforms organized by the Women's Resources Division of ESA FKIP UNRI 2023/2024 and was attended by active students of English Education Universitas Riau class of 2022-2023. Each division is required to send 2 women delegates as participants (1 administrator and 1 EGG).
This videos competition created to raise awareness that all women have valuable values and achievements, learn the meaning of respect regardless of differences, because in fact humans have unlimited achievements to achieve high dreams. Highlighting progress towards gender equality while acknowledging ongoing challenges. Aswell, as a powerful tool for education, advocacy, and solidarity, fostering a collective commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable society. And thus, the winners of International Women's Day Video Making was Nur Meistia Ningsih as the winner of the Best Video category, then Griselda Nabila Zahran won the Most Creative Video category and Syabrina Laela Albana won the Most Favorite Video Category.
3. ADMINISTRATION CLASS II
April 3rd, 2024 - The Secretary Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau hosted Administration Class II. Themed "Maximize Administrative Capabilities for an Outstanding Cabinet," the event commenced at 8:00 a.m. and concluded with resounding success. Held in the D8 room of FKIP Universitas Riau, the Administration Class II aimed to enhance the administrative prowess of the cabinet members. Through interactive sessions and insightful discussions, participants gained invaluable knowledge and skills essential for effective cabinet management.
The event kicked off with a lively opening ceremony orchestrated by MCs, featuring recitation of the Holy Qur'an, national anthem singing, and welcoming speeches from key figures, Bintang Adri Darmawan. The informative session, led by Speaker Ayunda Winda Riani, covered topics such as how to make Validation Page, Event Proposal, and RAB. Following by Live-Practice of how to make Validation Page, Event Proposal, and RAB. The event concluded with a dynamic question and answer session, closing remarks from the MCs, and a hopeful aspiration for participants to implement the knowledge gained.
4. SUMATERA ENGLISH OLIMPIAD COMMITE MEETING III
SEO Commite Meeting III by Intellectual Division
April 18th, 2024 - The SEO Committee held its third meeting. Led by Tito Castro Siagian as the Chief Committee and Intellectual Division, the meeting commenced at 3:00 p.m. in the D6 room. This crucial meeting saw the active participation of all SEO committee members, united in their dedication to ensuring the success of tomorrow's event. Each chief organizer responsible for various competitions and supporting roles had the opportunity to share updates on their progress and address any pertinent issues.
In the spirit of open communication and continuous improvement, committee members engaged in constructive dialogue, offering suggestions and constructive criticism to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their respective roles. It is our fervent hope that through this collaborative effort, each committee member gains a deeper understanding of their responsibilities, fostering seamless coordination and contributing to the triumphant realization of the SEO 2024.
5. INVENTARIS IV
April 18th, 2024 - The Secretary Division conducted its fourth inventory session, aptly named 'Inventaris.' At 01:00 p.m., in front halls of the ESA Secretariat Room, diligent members of the Secretary Division, supported by their EGG counterparts, embarked on a comprehensive review and cataloging of all documents, equipment, and materials essential for secretarial and organizational purposes. With meticulous attention to detail, the team documented and organized every item, extending their scrutiny to include materials crucial for future activities of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau. This monthly inventory practice serves as a cornerstone for the effective management of the division, ensuring readiness to address the organization needs. By fostering a culture of foresight and adaptability, these monthly inventories underscore ESA's commitment to operational excellence and organizational preparedness.
6. SEKRE BERSIH IV
April 19th, 2024 - The Secretary Division successfully conducted their fourth Sekre Bersih event. At 2:00 p.m., in front of the secretary room, dedicated members of the Secretary Division, supported by the Women Resource Division and Interests and Talents Division along with their respective EGG teams, came together to ensure the tidiness and comfort of the secretary room. Sekre Bersih, a monthly initiative, plays a vital role in upholding cleanliness standards and creating a conducive work environment within the secretary room. Through collaborative efforts and a shared commitment to cleanliness, ESA FKIP Universitas Riau continues to foster a culture of responsibility and pride in maintaining its facilities.
7. SUMATERA ENGLISH OLIMPIAD
April 21st-27th, 2024 - The Sumatra English Olympiad (SEO) is an exciting event organized by students from the English Education Department at Universitas Riau. In 2024, it returned with the theme "Your Brightest Future Starts Here!" The competition ran from April 21st to 27th, 2024, both in-person and online at the M. Diah building or the Around English Study Program Universitas Riau rooms. It attracted participants from all over Sumatra and Indonesia, ranging from kindergartners to university students. The goal of SEO is simple: to make learning English fun and to help participants improve their English skills.
SEO offers a wide range of competitions, including singing contests, debates, and storytelling. These activities not only encourage healthy competition but also provide opportunities for learning and growth. Organizers hope that through SEO, participants will develop a love for the English language and gain confidence in using it. 8. KARTINI'S DAY VIDEO COMPETITION
April 28th, 2024 - The Secretary Division of ESA FKIP Universitas Riau organized the Kartini's Day Competition, featuring the theme "Commemorating Kartini's Legacy while Highlighting the Role of Women in Shaping a Better Future." Registration for the competition took place from April 7th to 16th, 2024, followed by the video creation phase from April 17th to 21st, 2024. The winners were announced on April 28th, 2024, across three categories: the best video, the most creative video, and the most favorite video. Participants, who were required to be active students of FKIP Universitas Riau and follow ESA's social media platforms, had the opportunity to showcase their talents and advocate for gender equality and women's empowerment.
Judged by experts from Putri Kampus Riau and FEB UNRI Ambassador 2023, the competition provided a platform for students to commemorate Kartini's legacy and promote gender equality through their video creations. Winners, including Alfiani Mawadah, Tahniah Arsyila, and Milati Ramadhan, were recognized for their outstanding contributions and received prizes such as trophies, certificates, and attractive awards. Overall, the Kartini's Day Competition served as a meaningful opportunity for participants to celebrate Kartini's legacy, raise awareness about gender equality, and inspire positive change within their community and beyond. Congratulations to the winners of this Kartini's Day Competition! with the best video category won by Alfiani Mawadah from the PGSD study program Universitas Riau, and the most creative video category won by Tahniah Arsyila from the mathematics education study program Universitas Riau, then the most favorite video category won by Milati Ramadhan from the PBSI study program Universitas Riau.
